She is survived by her husband, Fernest Schexnyder, Kaplan; two daughters, Shelley and husband Bryan Istre and Byrlia and husband, Tony Persilver, all of Kaplan; two sons, Steven and wife Maria Schexnaider, Kaplan, and Ben and wife Ruth Schexnyder, Duson; one brother, Leonce Trahan, Jr., Kaplan; nine grandchildren; Paula Kass, Leah Schexnaider, Joshua Schexnyder; Victor Persilver, Bryayna Persilver, Brooke Schexnyder, Stacy Schexnyder, Kate Istre; and Britt Istre; and three great-children. Schnexnyder was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Ramona Schexnyder; her parents, Leonce and Olamp Vincent Trahan, Sr.; one brother, Vernice Trahan; and two sisters, Mavis Trahan and Nella Parker. He began farming on his return home from the military in 1946 and retired in 1989 and remained active on the farm with four of his sons who also farm.
